Don't Be Silly

about

I remember when Jon Phonics played me this beat. I was blown away because it reminded me of something that Pete Rock would make. I told him that I needed this track but I think he had in mind for someone else. Anyway, I politely “begged” him to make me have it and he hooked me up. All he asked was that I don't spit “no love song” on his beat! This track was a challenge to write to because I usually prefer beats that are faster, but I stuck with it and I think I did it justice. For those who have heard “Unchain My Heart” from my first album, this song is like the “unofficial” sequel to it – the clue is in the Jennifer Lopez reference. All jokes aside though, as funny as some of the lyrics are, this song is really about the vicious cycle that heart break and bad relationships can trap us in.
