In The City

from The Kinesis Thesis by K.I.N.E.T.I.K.

about

This beat is quite dark and at first, it wasn't something that I could hear myself rhyming over. The beat did remind me of Mobb Deep though and since I'm big fans of them, I figured I'd give it a try. The beat made me think of the city, but I didn't want to do the typical “guns and drugs” type joint, even though I touch on that in the chorus. Instead, I wanted to touch on the things in the city that affect all of us such as housing, transport as well as the general negative effects of living in a rat race. I also wrote this track as a guide or a letter to someone who has never been to or lived in a major city environment, hence the reason I say at the end of the song, “a snapshot of where we live”.
