Love Has Never Lived Here

about

I'd like to give a shout out to my good friend Bryan Sanchez for giving me the idea for this track. One day we were sitting in his house and he said “you talk about yourself in your music too much... talk about some things from the perspective of other people”. He can't rap or sing to save his life but what he said made absolute sense. He then randomly said “do a song about domestic violence from the perspective of a kid”. I called J.J. Malone straight away and told him to make me a track that sounds like “RZA or Buckwild from 1994”. I checked for him the next day and once again he made this beat on the spot. I'm very proud of this song because I've always thought that storytelling was the weakest part of my lyrical repertoire, but with this one I proved to myself that I could tell a vivid and gripping narrative with a sick twist. People often ask me if the story is real or not. All I will say is, listen to the track, then YOU decide.
